John Clifton turned a year old Sept. 2, 2011. We celebrated his birthday at our home saturday morning on Sept. 10, 2011. We could not have asked for a more perfect day!! The weather was beautiful and all of our wonderful family and friends were there to help us celebrate John Clifton's special day!!! Happy Birthday to the sweetest little boy i know! You have brought so much joy to our lives and i love you more than you will ever know!!!!

John Clifton and Luther Wade!

John Clifton turned 9 months old June 2, 2011. I cannot believe how FAST time is flying by!! I really feel like i just had him! The month of June was a big month for him because he started officially crawling, eating gerber puffs/cheeto's/yogurt bites and he went for his first swim!!! He loved being in the pool and loves eating his new food! His little personality is really starting to shine! He loves to laugh and smile, and all in all he is a pretty laid back baby! He loves his big sister and always wants to play with her and be right next to her! They get along really well until he takes a toy away from her! Then the screaming begins, haha!!

I took JC to his 9 month wellness visit and he weighed 17 lbs! The dr. said he was a little under weight but his height and head circumference were in the average range! He is a healthy little boy and doing great!

John Clifton went for his 6 month wellness visit on 3-3-11. Here are his 6 month stats:

Weight: 16 lbs. 5 oz

Height: 26 in

Head: 44 cm

John Clifton was not able to get his shots because he ended up having an ear infection and a little cold! Other than that, he is doing great! He is a healthy 6 month old!! He is currently eating Gerber fruit, vegetables and cereal. He is rolling over from belly to back and almost sitting up by himself. He likes to stroll, play in his exersaucer, jump in his jumperoo and lay on his mat. He is such a sweet baby and rarley cries! He is fascinated with Sarah Douglas and Buddy (our dog). JOhn Clifton goes to bed around 7:00pm and wakes up at 6am. He is a pretty good sleeper and usually only wakes up if he wants his pacifier.

John Clifton Baptism- Feb. 13, 2011

We celebrated John Clifton's baptism on Feb. 13, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood. Dr. Rusty Douglas led the service and my dad, John H. Walker served as the assisting elder. The service was beautiful and Sarah Douglas and John Clifton were so good. I was a little worried about how Sarah Douglas would act standing in front of the church, but she did great. She smiled, clapped and waved good-bye when the service was over. John Clifton did not cry at all. He sucked on his pacifier and was mesmorized by Rusty the whole the time. We enjoyed a wonderful luncheon with family and friends at our house after the service. It was such a special day for our entire family, especially for John Clifton!!

I took John Clifton for his 4 month wellness visit on Wed. Jan 5, 2011. He did great with his shots and the Dr. said we could start him on rice cereal. I can't believe it is already time to introduce cereal. Time is going by way too fast!! John Clifton is smiling, cooing, and blowing raspberries. He likes to sit in his bumbo chair and we just started putting him in his baby einstein toy. He is still a little small for it though. He likes tummy time but only for a few minutes at a time and he loves bath time. He is not rolling over yet but hopefully with a little more tummy time he will! He started daycare this week and Geraldine says he is the best baby. And i have to say, i thought SD was a good baby but JC puts her to shame! haha! He rarely cries and he is always content! We have been so blessed with 2 good babies who are both healthy! God is sooooo good!!

John Clifton is ten weeks old! He is growing so fast and is just as sweet as he can be. He is starting to recognize our voices and faces, he is smiling and cooing, and his neck is getting stronger everyday. We have started to put him in the bumbo seat for a few minutes several times a day which will hopefully continue to help him gain head control. I am still nursing and he continues to eat every 3-4 hours. I am hoping we can stretch his night time feedings out a few more hours so i can get a full nights sleep pretty soon!!!!

Sarah Douglas and John Clifton had a big time this Halloween ! We attended St. John's trunk or treat, the Catholic Church spag supper and carnival, SD's school halloween party,Nora Walker's bday party and ended it with a cookout at Charlie and Lucy Swayze's. Sarah Douglas was an elephant and a Pillow Academy cheerleader and John clifton was a bumble bee! We had a wonderful time at each event and SD ate more candy that she would stand! All in all it was a great halloween!

John Clifton is 8 weeks old today!!!! Time is going by way too fast! I took him for his 8 week check-up and the dr. said he was doing great. He is healthy and growing like a weed. He was such a big boy when they gave him his shots. He only cried for about 2 minutes and then he was ok. We thank God everyday for 2 healthy children.

We attended St John's Trunk or Treat this past sunday. Sarah Douglas dressed up like an elephant and John Clifton was a bumble bee. They were so cute but i know they were burning up in their costumes. Hope you enjoy the pics!!!

Sarah Douglas is such a big girl and a wonderful big sister! She has not been nearly as jealous or hard to deal with as i thought she might be after John Clifton was born. She has literally grown up before our eyes in these last couple of weeks. Her personality is really starting to shine! She is talking in full sentences and you can literally carry on a conversation with her. She conintues to sleep through the night in her big girl bedwhich so nice for us!!! Now, if we can get her potty trained, haha!!! We have gradually introduced potty training to her but she is not quite interested in it yet.

Sarah Douglas LOVES daycare and going to birthday parties!! She talks about all her classmates and loves saying all their names! She also loves going to the park. We have tried to have playdates at the park as much as possible while the weather is so beautiful.

Sarah Douglas got her first haircut May 4th 2010. Kassie Scates at The Palor cut her hair. Sarah Douglas was such a BIG girl and did not cry at all. She was very happy when they gave her 2 suckers so that kept her occupied while Kassie cut her hair. At the end, Kassie gave SD the cutest 1st haircut certificate with a lock of her hair in a pouch inside the certificate. I love it!!!

We are so excited to announce that we will be welcoming a baby BOY to our family in sept. !!! I had a feeling all along that we were having a boy. Clifton was convinced that it was going to be another precious girl. Either way, we would have been happy! As soon as the ultra sound tech started the ultrasound Clifton said out loud "its a BOY!" He was the first to see his..... well, you know! My mom was with us and we were all THRILLED! Clifton and I feel so blessed that God has given us the privilege to be the parents of 2 precious children, Sarah Douglas and Baby Boy Thach. We are still thinking of names but he will probally be named after Clifton- John Clifton Thach III. Please keep our entire family in your prayers as we await the birth of our precious baby boy!

Sarah Douglas spent the day with Dee Dee on Sat. while Clifton and I did some much needed yard work. It was such a gorgeous day and Sarah Douglas spent most of her time outside.

Sarah Douglas was getting several ear infections so the Dr. decided it was time to get tubes. We went in early wed morning and were home by lunch time. She was such a big girl and hardly fussed! Everything went well and and there were no complications.

Sarah Douglas was admitted to the hospital early New Year's Day for breathing difficulties associated with bronchiolitis. We had to stay one night and were discharged late sat. night. She was such a big girl the entire time and we were ALL glad to go home. Hospitals are NO FUN, especially when it is your child!

Sarah Douglas' 1st Birthday Party

Sarah Douglas had her 1st birthday party sat. Dec 12 at our house. She will not turn one until the 18th of Dec. but my brother is getting married that weekend so we decided to have it early. We had such a great time at her birthday party. Several friends and family came over to help us celebrate. We had a wonderful spread of food/drinks and Veronica's bakery provided the beautiful cake. We moved the coffee table out of the den and set up toys so the children could play. After about 45 min. of playtime, we sang happy birthday and ate cake and ice cream. Sarah Doulgas was so good the entire time. She played with her friends and then dug into her cake after singing happy birthday. The entire day was so very special and i want to thank everyone who came to help us celebrate. It meant so much to me and Clifton to have all of our family and friends there. Thank you to John, Chris and Courtney for driving several hours to celebrate Sd's birthday. We love you all!

SD is such a daddy's girl! It is so sweet to watch Clifton interact with SD. He loves her so much! I am usually feeding SD supper when Clifton gets home from work. The minute he opens the back door, SD starts smiling, flapping her arms and getting excited because she knows her daddy is home. It just melts my heart. We had a great thanksgiving this year! The Lord has blessed me with the most wonderful family, friends and good health and i am so very thankful! We had a busy week but was able to spend alot of time with family and friends. Wed. night, we had Thanksgiving dinner at Clifton's parents house. Several family members were there including Sd's great-grandmother (GG)! She had so much fun playing with her GG and her cousin, Nora. Thurs. and Fri. night we relaxed and enjoyed family time. Clifton also did some hunting! Sat. night we had Thanksgiving dinner at my parents house. All of my brother's and sister, along with there spouses were there. My Uncle Richard and his 3 girls were also able to come. SD was the center of attention and LOVED being able to meet her cousins for the first time. Thanksgiving was so special this year because we were able to spend it with SD and our entire family! Here are a few pics from wed. night at the Thach house.

It is hard to believe that Sarah Douglas is 11 months old today! Time is going by way too fast! I am already preparing for her 1st birthday party and can't wait. Sarah Douglas is such a sweet little thing and she has brought soooo much joy into our lives. I seriously don't know what life was like without her! We love her so much!

These past few days SD has had a terrible cold. She has a runny nose, congestion and a low grade fever. I had to pick her up early from daycare yesterday, and today she stayed at home with my mother. I hope she gets well soon because i know she feels aweful! I feel so bad when i can't stay at home with her but i know she is in GREAT hands.

Sarah Douglas is doing so many things at this point in her life. She is cruising all over the house. I think she will be walking by the time she turns 1. She is also standing up all alone! When she looses her balance she just plops to the floor. Sarah Douglas will point and say "Bubbi"- she is refering to buddy, our dog. It is soooooo cute. She will also say mama, dada, uh-oh, hey and bye-bye. Not real sure if she is refering to me and her dad when she say's mama and dada but i like to think she is! She also loves to pretend she is talking on the phone. She will put everything up to ear and say "hey". Again, it is so cute!

Yesterday one of her christmas presents arrived in the mail. Clifton and I thought it would be fun to take the present out and let her play in the box. She LOVED playing in the box and will probally like the box better than the present itself. I have posted a few pics of SD and Buddy playing in the box. Hope you enjoy!

We had a WONDERFUL halloween this year! Sarah Douglas dressed up as a Flower Blossom and she was the cutest thing ever! She was so good and kept her costume on for over 2 hours! After we went trick or treating by a few friends houses, we went over to Lance and Landi's for the rest of the night. They cooked a huge pot of red beans and rice and several friends came over. I am so excited that Halloween is right around the corner! I am so ready to dress Sarah Douglas up and take her Trick Treating for the very first time. We got Sarah Douglas a costume and i decided to try it on her last night and take a few pictures. Well, i do not think she likes it at all!!!! She kept trying to pull the hat off the minute i put it on her head. OH WELL!!!! I did not get very many good pics because she was upset and all over the place. But, here is a glimpse of what her Halloween costume looks like. I did not put the bottom part on her because she was so fussy, but here are a few pics of the hat. She really looks ADORABLE in it and i hope she is more cooperative when Halloween arrives.

We had a great weekend relaxing and hanging out with Sarah Douglas! Saturday morning, Dee Dee, my mom, Sarah Douglas and I headed to Carrollton for their Pilgramage. The weather was great and we had a wonderful time. We did not tour the homes, but we ate lunch at the Carroll Co. Market and visited all of the craft booths. Later that afternoon Clifton, Sarah Douglas and I headed out to my parents house for a little 4-wheeler riding and college football. Here are a few pictures from the weekend so i hope you enjoy!

Sarah Douglas is 9 months old! I seriously do not know where the time has gone! She is growing up way too fast. These past 9 months have been the BEST of mine and Clifton's life. Sarah Douglas has brought so much joy to our lives and we could not imagine our life without her.

I took SD to her 9 month well-baby visit and found out she also had an ear infection. This is her 2nd one in 9 mos. She is meeting all her develpmental milestones and the dr. said she was doing great! She continues to sleep through the night and she is crawling all over the place. She is cutting 2 top teeth and she has a head full of wild hair! SD conitnues to have crystal blue eyes. They are absolutely gorgeous and i hope they are there to stay! She has such a sweet personality and we just love her TONS!

Here are her 9 mo stats:

Weight: 18 lbs. 14 oz (50th percentile)
Height: 28 1/4 in. (90th percentile)

The dr. said she is long and lean!!!! Wish i had that problem. I am short and dumpy! haha!!

Anyway, all is well around the Thach household and SD is keeping us on the move. I am posting a few pics i took this morning. NOt a very good photo session. She was not very cooperative and my camera is way too old! Need a new one ASAP! HOpe you all enjoy!

Sarah Douglas is getting so big! She will be 9 months on the 18th of Sept. She is pulling up, crawling, babbling and in to everything! She is getting to the point where she cries if you leave the room and she only wants her mamma or daddy to hold her, especially if she has not seen you in a while. She seems to really like daycare and has not gotten sick as of yet (knock on wood) but i think she may be coming down with a little cold! I hope it does not turn into the flu!!!!

I had to post a few pictures of our sweet dog BUDDY! For those of you who do not know, he went missing for a few days! The dog catcher picked him up either near Sonic or Shoney's (i have heard 2 stories and don't know the correct one) and took him to the dog pound. Where ever he was picked up, he was VERY far from where we live! We are so glad to have him back home!

Playdate

The weather was absolutely gorgeous on Sat. so i decided to invite Leslie and Tripp Smith, Laura Anne and Luke Archer and my sister over for a playdate outside. Claire and Anne Grace Green came over later that afternoon too. We put blankets on the ground and took all the toys outside. It was so much fun watching the little ones play together and the adults had a good time too. Here are a few pictures from the afternoon. Hope you enjoy.

Sarah Doulgas LOVED being able to play with the younger children and we enjoyed the adult company. I wish i had taken more pictures! And, i didn't even get a picture of Jackson Dunn- SORRY!

Well, summer is over and it is back to the working world. Sarah Douglas and I had a wonderful summer! It was so nice to be able to stay at home with her for 2 months. I returned to work Aug. 3 and Sarah Douglas started her first day of daycare. I was pretty nervous, but she really seems to like it. The ladies who take care of her are super sweet and there are several other babies in there whom i already know. This is nice because the moms and i can talk about how things are going and her class is fairly small, which is also plus.

Sarah Douglas is growing soooooo fast. She is almost 8 months old and she is currently: sitting up all by herself for long periods of time; she has 2 bottom teeth; she babbles all day long; she is almost crawling; she continues to sleep through the night; and she is eating a little bit of table food. It is amazing to watch all the different developmental and physical milestones she is reaching.

Arkansas Vacation- July 2009

We went to Heber Springs, Arkansas on our yearly lake vacation this past week. We had a wonderful time and Sarah Douglas was such a good baby. She loved riding on the pontoon boat but did not like wearing her life jacket. We had a great time and can't wait until we go back next year. Here are a few pictures from the vacation:

Beach Trip- July 2009

My entire family all went to Orange Beach this past week. This was Sarah Douglas' first vacation and she had a blast. She loved the beach and swimming pool! It was so nice to have so many family members who were more than willing to help take care of Sarah Douglas. We had such a great time and thank you so much to my mom and dad who treated us to such a wonderful vacation.

6 month stats

I took Sarah Douglas to her 6 mo check-up last week. Here are her stats:

weight: 15.6 lbs

height: 26 3/4 in.

head: 42 1/2 cm

She is currently eatitng Gerber Otmeal, fruit, and vegetables. She loves it all! She is sitting up by herself and loves to drink water from a sippy cup or my cup, but ends up spilling it all over herself. She is sleeping through the night (8pm-8am!!!) and she does not have any teeth yet; however, i think they will be in real soon.

Sarah Douglas is such a sweet, calm baby. Nothing ever seems to bother her and she just goes with the flow. We love her so much and are so blessed and thankful to have such a healthy baby.

New Swing

Sarah Douglas got a new swing! She loves it and we have so much fun spending time outside (when its not 100 degrees!). We are having a great summer and we will be going to Orange Beach next week. I cannot wait to take Sarah Douglas. I will post pictures when we return!

Swimming

We have been swimming twice so far this summer and Sarah Douglas absolutely LOVES it. We went for the first time with the Green's, Smith's, Kathleen and Grace. The second time we went swimming, my sister came with us. We had a wonderful time and can't wait for more trips to the pool. Here are a few pics! Hope you enjoy!
